Artist Bio
My work is deeply rooted in the natural world and the endless exploration of color. Growing up in Patagonia and now calling Wyoming home, I find inspiration in the dramatic landscapes that have shaped both places-mountains, rivers, and wide-open skies that shift with light and season.
I create utilitarian pottery that bridges functionality with artistry, aiming to bring beauty and purpose to everyday life. Porcelain is my preferred medium-its smooth, delicate nature allows me to craft pieces that feel both refined and organic. Each piece begins at the wheel, where I seek balance between form and function, creating vessels that fit comfortably in the hand and enhance daily rituals.
Through form, texture, and color, I evoke a sense of connection to the natural elements that inspire me. My glazes reflect the earth tones of high desert plateaus, the crystalline blues of mountain lakes, and the warm ochres of windswept grasslands. I also incorporate traditional South American pottery techniques alongside contemporary approaches, honoring the rich ceramic traditions I learned in Chile while embracing new creative directions.
My pottery is meant to be used, touched, and lived with-transforming daily rituals into moments of quiet appreciation. Whether it's a morning coffee mug, a serving bowl for a family meal, or a simple vase holding wildflowers, I hope each piece brings warmth and meaning to the spaces it inhabits.
For me, pottery is both personal practice and a way of connecting with community. After decades of teaching ceramics and organizing community art projects across Chile and now in Wyoming, I believe in the power of handmade objects to create connection, spark conversation, and remind us of our relationship to the earth and each other.
