Take a moment. Enjoy the holiday mood.
Over the next 15 days, we are sharing a favorite recipe from each of the 15 Alchemy Artists. It's our way of saying thank you for your support.
So, watch for our emails and take a moment to enjoy our gift to you.
Today it's a cookie recipe from Melissa Strickler.
Melissa's Melt-in-the-Mouth Cookies
I've been baking these cookies for nearly 40 years, and they are always a hit.
They are delicate cookies, with simple ingredients, which you might have in your pantry right now.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1 cup butter
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 cup flour plus an extra 2 tablespoons
Mix together the flour mixture with the butter mixture and add 1 tsp vanilla or almond flavoring ( I prefer almond )
Roll into small balls and place on un-greased cookie sheet, press down slightly. Bake for 12 minutes. Remove from pan carefully as they are crumbly while warm. Frost with homemade buttercream frosting and garnish with an almond sliver on top of each cookie.
Peace to you and yours this holiday season, Melissa
